Faded & Found: Gilded Rebellion is a series of figurative abstract paintings inspired by one of my mom's photo albums from the 1970s. Looking through those pages, I was struck by the sense of freedom and raw self-expression in every frame. More than anything, I could feel the connection among her friends—a specific kind of intimacy that felt both rebellious and incredibly bold.
Bold & Free, 2026 features my mom from the early 70s charting her independence as a young woman. All about vitality, confidence and “blooming” where you stand. I can truly feel her quiet strength and unwavering confidence against a backdrop of vibrant hydrangea flowers. Where the blooms are an extension of her spirit, symbolizing growth and courage to stand in your own light. Rendered in oil, acrylic, spray paint, metal leaf, marker on canvas.
